Senior Class Gift
What
is Project GRADitude?
Project
GRADitude was created in 2004 as the Senior Class Gift Program in
order for Seniors to leave a legacy behind in their name, however
it is not only for Seniors. The objective behind this project is
to educate students about giving back to Tulane and encourage participation
at all levels of giving - because we, as students, can make a huge
difference!
Making
Progress!
The
Class of 2004 made a lasting impact by stepping up as the first
class to collectively partake in a Senior Class Gift to Tulane.
We congratulate them for their participation and courage for being
the first class of Project GRADitude.
The
Class of 2005 took note of the previous class' gift and realized
the need for their class to participate as well. They ended up almost
tripling the number of gifts for their Senior Class Gift. The Class
of 2005 also set a great example for underclassment. It was inspiring
to see underclassmen realizing the potential of giving back to Tulane
by contributing to the Senior Class Gift.
While the 2005-2006 academic year was cut short by Hurricane Katrina, the class of 2006 and various underclassmen showed great participation in their class gift, further defining what it means to be a Tulanian.
Why
should I participate by giving to Project GRADitude?
Leverage
- If every student gave back even just a dollar, GREAT things
could happen as a result!
Distinction
- Only a few other universities and colleges even have a senior
class gift program, so this is OUR opportunity to make our endorsement
and be distinctive!
• If each student made a gift, surely all alumni can make
a gift since their Tulane education has helped them in one way or
another to get to where they are now.
• Tulane’s rankings in the U.S. News & World Report
would increase as Tulane’s giving rates increase.
• Gifts from students act as a vote of confidence in Tulane.
Gifts send positive messages to potential employers and act as a
powerful endorsement to potential supporters of Tulane.
• Keep tuition from doubling. Annual Fund gifts and other
gifts make up the gap between what tuition costs and what it really
costs for a student to attend Tulane and therefore keep tuition
from being twice as much as it is now.
